Claire West was elected to council in 2021, joining Romola Hollywood as the second Labor Councillor for Ward 2. 

 

Claire lived in Woodford for over 25 years and has lived in the Blue Mountains for her entire life. She is committed to working to make the mountains a better place, for all residents. She is currently sitting on the IDAHOBIT Committee and the Youth Advisory Committee. 

 

A message from Claire:

“The City of the Blue Mountains is one of only two in the world located within a UNESCO World Heritage Area. Our distinct cultural heritage and natural environment are unique and worth protecting. 

I will always stand up against overdevelopment and any watering down of our local environmental protections. I hope to work with the community to promote a more inclusive environment for all residents.

Representation is important to me. As a young queer woman I understand the value of seeing people like yourself in leadership positions.
