ABOUT DEPUTY MAYOR ROMOLA HOLLYWOOD

Romola Hollywood was first elected to council in 2012 and is currently the longest serving woman on Blue Mountains City Council. Just after being re-elected for a third time in 2021, Romola was elected as Deputy Mayor of the City of Blue Mountains by her council peers.

Romola has lived in Wentworth Falls for 35 years, and raised her family here. She is very passionate about our community, and the 7 towns that make up Ward 2.

A message from Romola:

“The Blue Mountains is an exceptional part of the world. Our city is one of only two cities located in a world heritage area. I will always work to ensure our Council has policies and plans to protect our city from over-development and strengthen environmental protections.

The Blue Mountains is one of the most bushfire prone cities in the world. We have faced the intensity of bushfires in 2013, 2015 and the Black Summer fires in 2019-2020. As a Councillor, I have been proud to use my voice to advocate for action on climate change. I also strongly support the work of our emergency services.

Every day, I work on local issues and priorities that people living in Ward 2 - Faulconbridge (west of Grose Road), Linden, Woodford, Hazelbrook, Lawson, Bullaburra and Wentworth Falls - raise with me.

I love this community and want to protect and strengthen our quality of life for now and future generations. I am so glad that we have such an active, engaged local community and hope you will continue on this journey with me as we work to make the Blue Mountains a better place, with better outcomes for all residents.”
